This scholarship is designed for the beginning entrepreneur who wants to start his or her own business focused on the trades related to the Construction and Remodeling industry. Applicants should be interested in such fields as -- but not limited to -- skilled building trades, service industries, antique and classic automotive restoration, construction, small manufacturing, tools and equipment, machinery repair, etc.

Criteria

  • Open to any graduating high school senior who wishes to own their own business.
  • Evidence of entrepreneurial spirit and initiative will be heavily weighted.
  • Applicant plans to enter an accredited, two-year program offered at a community college, trade school, technical institute or a public school which specializes in certification for the trades.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited institution. Prefer in state of Washington but not required.
  • Applicant's extra curricular activities, leadership and character are considered.
  • Financial planning with minimum debt to complete program in the prescribed, continuous time frame.

Requirements

  • Finalists will be interviewed by a committee made up of members of the Rotary Club of Woodinville and representatives of the Town of Grace. Candidate should be prepared to discuss specific career objectives.
  • This scholarship may be renewable for an additional academic period to a recipient who continues to demonstrate a keen interest in entrepreneurship and is on track to graduate or receive a program certificate within two years.
